Otter Grown
Camellias...
Our choice is unsurpassed
in the area!
We grow over 50 varieties,
including specially selected
new introductions that we
know you will enjoy.
Camellias produce masses of showy pink, red, white or yellow
flowers from late autumn through to early summer.
They like an acid soil so Camellias make an ideal choice for
growing in a pot as you can add ericaceous compost to create
the perfect growing conditions.
Our passion for Camellias.
As specialists, our expert growers care for hundreds of Camellias
in our polytunnels, bringing them on from young plants.
The care is very specialised and as some of our plants are grown over many years, this quality really shows when you buy one of our Camellias.
Our range includes young plants ideal for containers up to
specimen size for the garden that needs instant impact.
New variety of Camellia.
Last year we launched the beautiful new variety, Claire Hannah
after 10 years of propagation by our growers.
Claire Hannah (pictured right) has a very tidy upright growth
with dense, evergreen glossy foliage and flowers profusely
from March to May.
With prolific, semi-double long lasting, coral red flowers,
Claire Hannah is ideal for either borders or containers,
and is a real showstopper!
Camellia Time
In early spring, it's a pleasure to display all our beautiful
Camellias in a setting becoming to their natural habitat.
This gives you the opportunity to see the array
of complementary planting, like spring bulbs, Vincas, Heathers
and Magnolias that makes a Camellia garden so stunning.
We get many kind comments about this festival as the colour
is so welcomed after the winter and a true Camellia garden is
simply wonderful.
